Malia Love Parker

Malia Love Parker, a bright and talented young soul, left this world on October 30, 2025, at the age of five. Born on April 12, 2020, in Champaign, Malia brought joy and light to everyone she encountered. Her sweet, comforting, and compassionate nature made her a beloved presence in the lives of her family and friends.

She attended kindergarten at Kenwood Elementary School, where she was recognized as Student of the Month.

Malia's artistic talent was apparent even at her young age. She aspired to be an influencer, creating TikTok videos that captured her joyful spirit. Whether she was dancing or reviewing food, her enthusiasm was contagious.

She is survived by her mother, Lela McCoy; maternal grandparents, Mary McCoy and Maurice Newton; paternal grandparents, Sharon and Michael Parker; aunts, Brianna, Kayla, Tiana, and Valencia; uncle, Kewonn; cousins, Makai, Mila, Myka, Ke’Loni; godfathers, Frank and Treskii; and godmothers, Tristan, Dre’Anna, and Kylie.

She is preceded in death by her father, Malik Parker, great-grandfather, G.G. and Bailey Dee.

Though her time with us was far too short, Malia's legacy of compassion, creativity, and joy will forever resonate in the hearts of those who loved her. As we remember her today, we celebrate a beautiful life filled with promise and light.

A Celebration of Malia’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Champaign Chapel, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign, IL 61820.
