Mae Bridgman, 85, of Danville passed away at 2:07pm on Thursday January 3, 2008 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Mae was born in Oakwood, Illinois on December 5, 1922 the daughter of Gordon and Chrystal Van Allen Bridgman. Mae retired from Hyster Company after being employed for 30 years as a payroll clerk. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Danville. Her hobbies included sewing, reading, gardening, and playing cards. Mae never met a stranger. She loved meeting new people and had many friends. She loved the Lord and supported many religious organizations. Mae is survived by her three nieces; Pam Cookus, Paula (Gary) Millikin, and Linda (Tim) Cunningham; one nephew Jim (Toni) Wolfe; 4 great nephews, 3 great nieces one great-great niece, a special cousin Janet Andrews and her family also 3 special friends, Gary and Helen Keener and Margaret Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jean Wolfe, her brother in law Lester Wolfe, her nephew in law Greg Cookus and several aunts and uncles. A celebration of Maes life will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday January 6, 2008 at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel 105 E. South Street in Oakwood. Family will receive friends from 1:00pm until time of services at 3:00 on Sunday at the chapel. Rev. Drs. Jimmy and Katie Hopper will officiate. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery will be private. Memorials to Vermilion Co. Museum, 116 N. Gilbert St.Danville, IL 61832 or Lakeview College of Nursing, 903 N. Logan St., Danville, IL 61832 would be appreciated.
