Mae Bell Richards

Danville Mae Bell Richards, 83 of Danville passed away at 2:25 PM on November 29, 2019 at her home in Danville.

Mae was born on December 28, 1935 the daughter of Clayton and Gladys (Hodges) Jackson in Washington, NC. She married Charles Richards, Sr. in 1955 in and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2019.

Survivors include her son; Charles Richards, Jr. of Danville, two sisters; Linda Jackson of North Carolina and Shirley Ziegler of North Carolina, four grandchildren; Zack (Bridgette) Currier of Indianapolis, IN, Kennedy Richards of Danville, IL, and Devin and Charlie Richards both of Westville, IL, as well as one great grandchild; Landon Currier of Indianapolis, IN.

Mae is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles, Sr., one brother; Johnny Jackson and one sister; Maggie Jackson.

Mae was a Dietary Supervisor at the Illiana Veterans Affairs Medical Center for many years. She enjoyed spending her free time cooking and taking care of her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834. James Blue will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019, from 10:00 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
