Mae Frances Barton, 92, of Danville, passed away at 8:23 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Colonial Manor in Danville. Mae was born on July 5, 1913 in Mansfield, Illinois, the daughter of Asa Cleveland and Nancy Pricilla (Craft) Cottle. She married Lloyd James Barton on July 20, 1945 in Gifford, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2002. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Philip Cottle and Kenneth Cottle, and one sister, Iva Evans. Mae was a graduated from Rantoul High School in 1932. She worked as the head housekeeper at Colonial Manor for 21 years. She later worked at Danville Manor until it closed. She loved cocker spaniel dogs and loved working in her garden at her home. A celebration of the life of Mae Frances Barton will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2005 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Rev. James Blue officiating. Burial will be at Potomac Cemetery in Potomac. Memorials may be made to the Danville Humane Society.
