Madge L Ross passed this life on July 12, 2022 at Hawthorne Inn, Danville, IL. She turned 101 yrs old this past July 3rd.
She was born in Eugene, IN on July 3, 1921 to Frank M Kizer and Lena Florence Pritchard Kizer. and resided in the Eugene/Cayuga Ind area until the age of 16. She married Lloyde I Ross on Nov 13, 1939.
She is survived by her son Dale (Mari), Granddaughters Erin (Craig) and Brooke (Andy) and Great Grandchildren Jackson (Makayla), Jordyn, Ben and Eli. And Great Great Granddaughter Iris. Madge loved her numerous nephews and nieces as if they were her own.
Madge was preceeded in death by her parents, twin daughters, husband, brothers: Clarence, Wayne and Ed and sisters: Mildred, Mabel, Margaret, Susie, and Virginia, and great nephew Nathan.
While Lloyde was in the Army during WW2, Madge worked at the Glove Factory and the Red Cross at Lakeview and St Elizabeth Hospitals. During the 1950s she worked at Illinois Bell Telephone Company. She also worked as a seamstress for Lloydes Upholstery Shop in Danville. In the 1970s, she operated a ceramics shop and taught classes. She and Lloyde were care givers for the elderly in their home for 30 years.
She and Lloyde joined Trinity Lutheran Church and she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent, Youth Group Sponsor and a Vacation Bible School Teacher. She was a member of the Eunice Society.
A special thank you goes out to the Garden Court at Hawthorne Inn. She resided there these last six years. Kim and her crew were family to Miss Madge Truly Angels among us.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Chapel Mausoleum in Sunset Memorial Park, 3901 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Jim Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 1:30-2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois.
Memorials may be made in Madges memory to the charity of the donors choice.
