Madge Burris

Madge Burris, 86, of Georgetown went to be with her Lord and Savior and was reunited with her daughter, Linda, on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 at 2:27 pm. Madge was born January 19, 1927, in Donavan, IL, to Paul Kenneth and Ella Ellen (Chiever) Murray. She married Hal F. Burris Sr. on August 18, 1945. He preceded her in death. Madge worked as a salesclerk at Swartz Market for many, many years. Those that love and will miss her the most are: two sons, Hal (Janet {Hill}) Burris of Sidell, IL, & Roger (Nancy {Nesbitt}) Burris of Ridge Farm; two daughters, Susan Campbell-Atwood of Westville, & Brenda Daugherty of Tilton; one sister, Carolyn Murray Gallagher; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; friends, Gene and Ann Furr, Tammy Hall, Dora from Georgetown and her extended Church Family. Madge was preceded in death by her husband, Hal; her parents; one daughter, Linda; two brothers, Albert Lee Murray and Kenneth Paul Murray and two sisters, Mary Ellen Murray-Lewis and Glenda Faye Murray-Mosay. A celebration of Madge's life will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church, Tilton with Rev. Scott McCurdy officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Sunset-Urbas Chapel, Westville. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Memorial contributions may be made in Madge's name to Calvary Baptist Church or to help with funeral expenses.
