Madalyn Ramert

Madalyn Claire Ramert, 74, of Georgetown, passed away at 9:05pm, Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Presences USMC, Danville. She was born on September 4, 1942, in Scottland, IL, the daughter of Roy Ramert and Dorothy L. {Bonwell} Ramert, both deceased. She was a caregiver and did home health for people who were just getting home from the hospital. She would stay with them at night, cook for them and help them prepare for their day. She loved to read and read the newspaper every day. She was skilled at keeping up on current events. She loved to watch game shows on TV. She was a member of Georgetown Friends Church and a member of the Royal Neighbors. She loved living at North Logan Health Care and enjoyed all the staff and residents there. The family would like to send a "thank you" to all North Logan Health Care for their excellent care, from the kitchen staff to all of the nurses and CNAs. Madalyn is survived by: her siblings, Dale (Peggy) Ramert of Danville, Donald (Sue) Ramert of Maryville, IL, and Jane (George Smith) Frye of Danville; nephews, Dale A. Ramert of Thomasboro, IL, Jason (Pamela) Ramert of Troy, IL, and Justin (Jamie) Ramert of Troy, IL; great nieces & nephews, Morgan, Logan, Bridget, & Jacob. She was preceded in death by: her aunts, Esther Parrish & Mary Hopt. A celebration of Madalyn's life will be held at 11:00am, Friday, April 14, 2017 at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, with Pastor John Myers officiating. Visitation will be held 10am to 11am prior to her service on Friday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Friends Chapel, Edgar County, Illinois. Memorials may be given in her name to Georgetown Friends Church or North Logan Health Care.
