Mabel D. Guthrie

SIDELL- Mabel D. Guthrie, 98, of Sidell passed away at 3:40am on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born on April 16, 1909, in Danville, the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Martin) Irwin). Both her parents precede her in death. Mabel married Thomas Guthrie on January 24, 1940 in Covington, IN. He preceded her in death. Mabel is survived by: her step-daughter, Betty Frankino of Westville; her 5 nieces, Rosalie Smith of Tilton, Marian Lumsargis of Westville, Marilyn (Raymond) Parrish of Muncie, IL, Carla (Tony) Wade of Oakwood, and Lona Reed of Henning; and her nephew, Jerry Irwin of Danville. Her two brothers and three sisters precede Mabel in death. Mabel was a home maker and enjoyed sewing, knitting, working puzzles and reading. She lived most of her life in the Sidell area. A celebration of Mabels life is scheduled for 11:00am on Friday, April 27, 2007 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home at 200 E. West St. in Georgetown. Officiating the service will be Pastor James Blue. Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Sidell. Visitation will be held from 9-11am on Friday, April 27, 2007 at the funeral home.
