M. Joyce Long

Covington- M. Joyce Long, 75, of Covington, IN, formerly of Danville passed away at 7:57 AM on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on August 26, 1936 in Danville to James J. and Gladys T. Manley West. She married Bill E. Long on June 25, 1953 in Danville. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Patty (John) Wagner of Covington and Toni (Rick) Billbe of Covington; son Mike (Amy) Long of Covington; brother Bill (Joan) West of Danville; 11 grandkids and 6 great-grandkids. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James J. West and John "Jack" West, and a sister, Mary E. Frew. Joyce had worked at G.E. until 1970 when she and Bill moved from Danville to Covington. She was a Cubs fan and liked to watch racing. Joyce also enjoyed BINGO and bowling. A service to celebrate the life of Joyce Long will be held at 2PM EST on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Sunset's Covington Chapel. Drew Mentzer will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM EST on Monday, April 9, also at Sunset in Covington.
