Lyndol E. Potter

Lyndol E. Potter, 94, of Danville, formerly of Cayuga, Indiana, and Potomac, Illinois, passed away at 11:00pm, Monday, December 27, 2021, at Accolade Health Care, Danville. He was born on April 17, 1927, to Harold and Thelma {High} Potter. He was first married to Mildred Goodwin on May 28, 1949. He later was wed to Anna Louise Moreland on November 19, 1978. She preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Donna Eldred of Texas, Carol (Ivan) Rickey, Dunlap, IL, Gayle Arrowsmith of Indiana, & Kriss Overby of Indianola; his stepchildren, Larry Selders of West Virginia, Melanie (Philip) Bonner of West Virginia, & Lenora (Gary) Kyger of Oakwood; his 16 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren with one on the way; his brother, James Potter; and his sister, Linda Story. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold and his mother, Thelma Jaenicke; his stepfather, Carl Jaenicke; his maternal grandparents, Lee & Rose High; his paternal grandparents, Jewell & Zettie Potter; his sons-in-law, James Eldred & Ronald Dillion; his sister, Judy Barnett. Lyndol was a proud Veteran of the US Navy. He enjoyed spending time outdoors going fishing or mushroom hunting, as well as squirrel hunting. He also liked to go bowling and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved his family and cherished time he spent with them. A celebration of Lyndols life will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883. Visitation will be held 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday, January 3, 2022, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville.
