Danville - Lynda Kaye (Barth) Hundley, 82, of Danville, passed away on April 29, 2026, at Accolade Healthcare and Nursing Home in Danville. She was born in Danville on August 26, 1943, to Charles Joseph Barth and Marietta Doris Morrison. She married Thomas W. Hundley, Jr., on November 24, 1965, in Danville at Central Christian Church.
Survivors include her sister, Cheryl Barth, of Pompano Beach, FL; two stepsons, Thomas W. Hundley, III (Dina), and Jeffrey C. Hundley, both of Danville; three sons, Charles J. Hundley of Urbana, and Randall S. Hundley (Gina) and Christopher J. Hundley, both of Danville; as well as 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a stillborn brother.
Lynda attended Douglas Grade School and Danville High School, graduating in the class of 1961, as well as attending Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. During summer breaks of her high school years, she was an apprentice at The Little Theatre in Sullivan, Illinois, as an actor/singer/dancer. In her time there, she appeared in several musicals alongside such luminaries as Margaret Hamilton, Jack Haskell, Rosemary Prinz, Ruth Warrick, and a young Alan Alda. She participated in the Miss Vermilion County pageant after returning from Indiana University, finishing as 4th runner-up. She worked at The Fashion clothing store in downtown Danville for several years and during that time was a member of the Business & Professional Women’s Club. She also participated in the shows “Calamity Jane” (as Katie Brown) and “The Pajama Game” (as Gladys) with Danville Light Opera. After her marriage, Lynda worked alongside her husband in his insurance brokerage as his office manager, eventually running the business herself after he became too ill to manage it and obtaining her own insurance license. She was a member of Central Christian Church and sang in the Chancel Choir there.
Burial will take place at Danville National Cemetery, next to her husband. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
