Lyle G Blue

TILTON- Lyle G. Blue 74 of Tilton passed away at 9:40pm on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Provena USMC in Danville. Mr. Blue was born on September 17, 1931 in Danville, the son of Harry H. Blue Sr. and Agnes (Pierce) Blue. Both his parents precede him in death. On August 9, 1953, Lyle married Rita Meeres. She survives and resides in Tilton. Lyle leaves behind and will sadly be missed by his wife Rita of 52 years, his two sons; Randy (Patti) Blue of Danville, Rick (Tina) Blue of Westville, and his brother; Richard (Donna) Blue of Tilton. Also surviving are his three grandsons; Jason, Kyle, Corey, and his great-grandson; Styles. Lyle will also be missed by his beloved pet; Cobbie. He is preceded in death by his four sisters; Patty Byassee, Betty Hooper, Dorothy Clark, Loretta Jones, and his two brothers; Harry Jr., and Kenny Blue. Lyle worked at the Interstate Water Company for 28 years, and was a member of several organizations including the Tilton Lions Club as one of the charter members, the Masonic Anchor Lodge Post #980, and the Danville Gao Grotto. Mr. Blue also served on the Tilton treasury board for 12 years and was a trustee for 28 years. He also enjoyed coaching the Central Foundry Little League Team for 12 years. Lyle enjoyed watching a variety of sports such as the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and the Illini. He enjoyed having a good time with his family and friends. A Graveside service only for Mr. Lyle Blue has been scheduled for 12:00pm on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Songer Cemetery in Tilton. Conducting the graveside service will be Mr. Gene Hooper. Visitation will be held between 4-7pm on Friday, January 20, 2006 at Sunset South's Westville Chapel located at 414 S. State St. in Westville.
