Lydia "Jayne" (Miller) Brownfield, 79, went to be with her Savior on Saturday January 25, 2020. She had been a recent resident of Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman due to several medical issues.

Jayne was born southeast of Ridge Farm, Illinois on December 27, 1940. Her parents were Henry "Clay" Miller and Olive Beatrice (Landis) Miller. She was united in marriage to Gene Autry Brownfield on May 6, 1989, at Ridge Farm Friends Church.

Jayne graduated from Ridge Farm Township High School and was valedictorian of her class. She later moved to Oak Park, Illinois and worked for Northwest Orient Airlines. She traveled to several European countries. Later, she returned to Ridge Farm and retired from Danville Polyclinic.

Jayne was active in her various church families before developing health issues. She was a member of the 210 Post American Legion Auxiliary Danville. She enjoyed visiting her large family and especially kept interest all the activities of her nephews and nieces. She played the organ and piano and had a beautiful voice. Jayne was known at Brookstone for starting the group off in a sing-along after meals.

Jayne was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Howard "Rex" Miller and Elmer Theodore Miller; two sisters, Lois Ellen (Miller) Ellis and infant, Rosemary Miller; brother-in-law, Gene Ellis; nephew, Tim Miller; nephew-in-law, Evan Pruitt; niece-in-law, Theresa Miller; and one great nephew.

Jayne is survived by her husband Gene Brownfield; one sister, Phyllis Ann (Ralph) Haas; and three sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Miller) Sprouls, Marjorie Miller, and Linda Brownfield. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces, Dan Miller, Mike (Tonda) Miller, Judy Miller, John (Kathy) Ellis, David (Nancy) Ellis, Gary (Marie) Ellis, Dorella Pruitt (Tom Sinder), Keith Miller, Deena (Ron) Paine, Gail (Jack) Morrison, Diane (Tom) Twork, Mary Burnell, and Erin Burnell. She is also survived by many great nephews and nieces and great-great nephews and nieces. She was lovingly called "Aunt Jayne" by her large extended family.

A Celebration of Jaynes life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois, 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 at 11:00am, Thursday, January 30, 2020. John Ellis will officiate. Burial to follow at Pilot Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one-hour prior. Memorials may be made in Jaynes name to American Heart Association.
