Lydia Upperman Coffman 85 of Danville passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 9: 28 pm Thursday April 3, 2008 at Provena USMC Hospital. She was born April 19, 1922 in Livingston, KY, the daughter of Early and Mary Ellen Hillard Howard. Lydia married James E. Upperman on May 20, 1938 in Covington, IN; he preceded her on March 10, 1983. She later married Bill Coffman on June 5, 1988 in Danville; he preceded her on May 25, 1998. Lydia is survived by a daughter; Norma Jean (James) Long of Kingman, IN, and a son Michael (Carolyn) Upperman of Perrysville, IN, a step-son James (Lurna) Coffman of Catlin, also five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, five sisters and a granddaughter. Lydia had worked for the former General Electric plant in Danville and was a home health aide for several years. She enjoyed flying when she was younger having owned her own airplane, Lydia enjoyed working in her yard and liked to garden. Per her wishes she will be cremated and no services are planned.
