Luvene C. Moore

Luvene C. Moore, 79, of Danville, passed away at 4:35 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2005 at Bowman Estates in Danville. She was born May 23, 1926 in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of James U. and Lucille (Modest) Cottrell. She married John Booker Moore on June 19, 1947 in Danville. Booker preceded her in death on October 25, 1991. She is survived by: two children- Darlene M. Harrison and John H. (Gail) Moore, both of Danville; three grandchildren- Anthony Harrison, Jason (Juanita) Moore and Michael Moore; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters " Hattie (Bobby) Stringfellow and Bernice Counce, both of Danville and one special cousin- Jettie (Robert) Martin of Danville. In addition to her husband, her parents, one daughter- Linda Moore, four brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Luvene was a homemaker and was a member of the Philadelphia Mission Baptist Church in Danville. She enjoyed studying the Bible, studying The Daily Bread and listening to the radio every morning.
