Danville Luella A. Meredith, 91, of Danville passed away at 8:10 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at OSF Hospital in Danville, IL.
Luella was born on August 15, 1927, the daughter of Jesse and Effie (Zeigler) Weaver in Fowler, IN, the youngest of 10 children. She married Donald Meredith on February 14, 1954, in Danville, IL, and he preceded her in death on November 8, 2016.
Survivors include her two sons, Jeff (Jeanne) Meredith of Noblesville, IN, and Michael (Becky) Meredith of Clarendon Hills, IL; two daughters, Gina Meredith of Danville, IL, and Stacy (Andy) Bade of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Erin (Lukas) Treu of Hudson, OH, Shannon (Alex) Tople of Fishers, IN, Meghan (Chris) Helms of Forrest Park, IL, and Ryan Meredith of Clarendon Hills, IL, as well as two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Lydia Tople of Fishers, IN.
Luella is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald, four brothers and six sisters.
Luella was a member of Second Church of Christ in Danville and worked at both Waldenbooks and Coes Book Cottage in Danville. She was "well read," and everyone wanted her on their team when playing Trivial Pursuit. Luella enjoyed gardening and Bible study groups.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834, with Pastor Drew Mentzer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019, from 9:00 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Memorials in Luellas memory may be made to the Second Church of Christ.
