Lucille June Russell, 86, of Danville, passed away at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Lucille was born on July 19, 1923 in Danville, the daughter of Robert R. and Julia Victoria (Blary) Shepard. She married Virgil Russell on July 17, 1987 in Danville. He preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters- June Hall of Mojave, California, Evelyn (James) Brown of Portage, Wisconsin and Crystal Reeves of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son-in-law- Dennis Reeves of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two brothers- Roy (Grace) Shepard of Little Rock, Arkansas and Lucky Shepard of Hunington, West Virginia; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one great-grandchild and her three husbands- Kenny Dahl, Virgil Russell and Howard Frahm. Lucille worked as a nursing assistant for several years. She was a member of Abundant Life Church. Lucille was very involved in church. She played the piano and sung in the choir. Church was her life. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sewing and spending time with her cat-Bobber. A Celebration of the life of Lucille June Russell will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Abundant Life Church, with Pastor James Ford officiating. Burial will follow the service at Songer Cemetery in Tilton. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Abundant Life Church. Memorials may be made to Abundant Life Church.
