Lucille F. Valantas, 101, of Westville, passed away at 5:10am, Monday, January 1, 2018, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman, IL. She was born the daughter of Joe and Anna {Lutchka} Norkus in Westville, IL, on February 16, 1916. She was united in marriage to Stanley Anthony Valantas on May 10, 1941 in Westville, until his passing on May 3, 2008. Lucille was a seamstress and had worked at the Jacket Factory in Westville & Danville. She also had worked for the WWII Draft Board. She was a member of the St. Peter & Paul's Church until it closed and a current member of St. Mary's Church in Westville. She enjoyed being involved and was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary Post #51, and the Mother of God Lithuanian Women's Society, as well as the Merry Wives & Widows Card Club. Lucille liked crocheting, flowers, playing cards, and really enjoyed being outdoors and going to Forest Glen County Preserve. Above all else, she loved spending time with her friends and being with her family, especially during family dinners. She will be dearly remembered by all who knew and loved her. She will be missed by: her daughter, Dorothy (Darrell) Lewis of Westville; her grandchildren, Lisa Innes of Westville, Lori Harris of North Carolina, Daryl Ann (Marion) Lewis-Roosa of Massachusetts, & Denys (Charles) Robertson of Seattle, Washington; and her great grandchildren, Eric Harris of North Carolina & Julian Lewis-Roosa of Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her brother, Ray; her daughter, Luann Torbit; and her great grandson, Jordan Harris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, January 6, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 N State St, Westville, with Father Loftus officiating. Visitation will be 4pm to 6pm, Friday, January 5, 2018, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville, with a Rosary Service to be held at 3:30pm at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Forest Glen County Preserve.
