LTC Edward Adams White, 93, of Danville, passed away at 9:27 a.m. Saturday, April 2nd, 2011 at the VA Illiana Healthcare Systems in Danville. Edward was born on March 1st, 1918 in Darlington, Wisconsin, the son of Archibald G. and Elizabeth M. (Adams) White. He married Mildred M. Riggs on April 21st, 1943 in Midland, Texas. She preceded him in death on September 16th, 2009. He is survived by his two children, John David (Debbie) White of Indianapolis, Indiana and Sandra E. Miller of Danville. He is also survived by his five grandchildren- Michael Troy Miller, Bonita Courtney, Candy Higber, and Jake and Anna White; and six great-grandchildren- Cory, Meghan, Brandon, Kalyn, Shaira and Annabelle. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He graduated from West Frankfort High School. Edward joined the United States Air Force in 1939. He served in the Air Force for 38 years, until retiring in 1978 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Edward later started his own construction company, Quality Builders, which he operated for 25 years. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling the world. Per Edwards wishes cremation rites will be accorded by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 15th, 2011 at Danville National Cemetery, with full military rites conducted by American Legion Post #210.
