Alvin- Lowell H. Fetters, 83, of Alvin died at 9:25 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Hawthorne Inn of Danville. He was born on August 10, 1928 in Alvin to Milo and Minnie Rudolph Fetters. He married Laura Jean DeNeal on December 24, 1950 east of Bismarck. She preceded him in death on October 16, 1996. He is survived by 2 daughters, Linda (Jeff) Rush of rural Danville and Carol (Kyle) Finley of rural Bismarck; 3 brothers, Earl (Bonnie) Fetters, Harold (Sarah) Fetters, and Dale (Phyllis) Fetters; 3 sisters, Freda (Mickey) Pollock, Ruby Richardson, and Alberta (Don) Lucas; sister-in-law Viola Fetters; and 4 grandchildren, Anna and Autumn Rush of rural Danville and Chad Finley of St. Louis, MO and Klayton Finley of rural Bismarck. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, brother Floyd, brother-in-law Harold Richardson, and infant sister Mildred Elizabeth. Lowell farmed in the Alvin area for all of his life. He had served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He also served on the Alvin and Rossville-Alvin School Boards and spent time volunteering at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village. He was a member of Christ's Church and worshipped with the congregation at the Alvin Christian Church where he was an elder and Sunday school teacher. Lowell was an avid Cubs fan and loved attending his grandchildren's school sporting events. A service to celebrate the life of Lowell H. Fetters will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Tim Cary will officiate. Burial will follow at Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM, Friday August 19, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials may be made to the Alvin Christian Church, Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, or the Donor's Choice.
