Decatur, IL- Louise Pedigo, 88, of Decatur and formerly of Danville, mother of Lynn Tilton and son-in-law Stephen Tilton, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Fair Havens Christian Home in Decatur. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Association, Humane Society of Danville, or a charity of your choice. Louise was born on February 23, 1925 to John and Elvira Cooke of Westville, IL. She was married on February 14, 1943 to Juan W. Pedigo. They celebrated 55 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1998. Louise worked for 35 years at General Electric as an assembler. She was a very devoted wife, mother, sister, and daughter. She and Juan loved to ballroom dance. She enjoyed tending her flowers, maintaining a beautiful yard, being outdoors, playing bunco, shopping, and caring for her dogs. Upon her retirement, she and Juan spent winters in Florida enjoying the beaches and the sunshine. After her husband passed in 1998, Louise continued to live in Danville until 2007 when she moved to Hickory Point Christian Village Assisted Living in Decatur to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law. In 2010, she was moved to Fair Havens Christian Home. Louise had a lively, gentle, friendly, likeable, and loving personality. She was very dedicated to her family and siblings. She knew no strangers. Surviving is her daughter, Lynn Louise Tilton and son-in-law, Stephen A. Tilton whom she loved as a son. Also surviving are three brothers, John Cooke of Danville, Alex Cooke (Evelyn) of Athens, AL, and Louie Cooke of Westville, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Leona Payne, sisters-in-law Charlotte Cooke and Alice Cooke, and loving pets, Suzy and Courty. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Fair Havens Christian Home, the staff of Harbor Light Hospice, and Dr. Richard Fritz for their tender, loving care.
