Louise Miller

Louise L. Miller, 96 , of Danville, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, surrounded by family at The Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Born on July 2, 1928, in Westville, Illinois, she lived a full and vibrant life, cherished by her family and community.

She married Glenn D Miller, the love of her life in 1950 in Danville. He preceded her in death in 1999 after 49 years of marriage.

Louise dedicated many years of her professional life to Illinois Bell, where she was known for her commitment and service. She was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of America.

An indelible part of the Westville community, she graduated from Westville High School, laying the foundation for a life characterized by strong ties to her roots.

A woman of many interests, Louise found joy in diverse activities including rummage sales, playing cards, and tending to her beloved garden. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, creating cherished memories that they will carry forward. Family gatherings were significant to Louise, and she took great pride in hosting holiday meals, bringing her loved ones together. She always looked forward to spending the summer holidays at the family cabin on the Wabash River, especially the 4th of July fireworks.

Louise leaves behind a loving family, including her son Glenn "Doug" Miller Jr., daughter Janice (George) Karosas, and son John (Lisa) Miller. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nicole McFarland, Douglas (Jennifer) Miller, Chelsey (Aaron) Patten, Tyler Miller and seven great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also cherish her memory, as well as her special friend, Linda Davis.

She was predeceased by her father John Kielich, Mother Katherine Maliczyszyn, husband Glenn D. Miller, daughter-in-law Mary Miller, as well as her sisters Genevieve Ksiazek, Julia Malivuk, Helen Patterson, and her brothers Joe and John Kielich.

A Celebration of Louise's Life will be held at 11am on Monday April 14, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center's Urbas Chapel 414 South State Street Westville, Illinois. Burial to follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Rileysburg, Indiana. A visitation at the funeral home on Sunday April 13, 2025, 3-6pm.
