Louis Joseph Tintorri of Georgetown, IL, passed away at 10:05pm, Sunday, December 13, 2009, at Provena USMC. He was born on January 4, 1916, in Cardiff, IL, the son of Louis and Teresa (Boggio) Tintorri. He is survived by: his sister, Cecelia Reasor; his three brothers, James (Clarice) Tintorri of Georgetown, Charles (Nellie) Tintorri of Georgetown, & Joseph Wilson Tintorri of Vacaville, CA; as well as, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; three sisters, Minnie Mario, Elizabeth Tintorri, & Catherine Mackin Webb; and an infant sister & brother. Louis served in the US Navy with honor during World War II as Carpenters Mate First Class. He served on the USS Worden until it was destroyed and then served on USS Southampton until being honorable discharged at the end of the War. Louis was an active member of the American Legion Dornblaser Post #203 of Georgetown for 53 continuous years. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. A celebration of Louis life will be held at 11:30am, Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown with the Georgetown American Legion Dornblaser Post #203 conducting Military Rites at the funeral home. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Danville National Cemetery.
