Danville- Louis C. Kotcher III, 79, of Danville died at 4:28 AM on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. He was born on January 10, 1933 in Georgetown to Louis A. and Anna (Bradauskas) Kotcher. Surviving are four children, Kari (Stan) Carp of New Lenox, IL, Kris Kotcher of Oakwood, Kevin (Missy) Kotcher of Catlin, and Kacey (Chris) Carlson of LeRoy, IL; long time companion Carolyn Query; brother Jack (Peggy) Kotcher of Vermilion Grove, IL; sister Marion Lutchka of Westville; and four grandchildren, Ryan Carp, Nicholas and Riley Kotcher, and Olivia Carlson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William, and two grandsons, Noah Kotcher and Bradley Carp. Louis was a graduate of Georgetown High School and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville. He served in the United States Navy from 1954-1959 and was a Danville VFW Member. Louis worked at the powerhouse for Olin and later Flexel in Covington, IN, retiring after 42 years and never missing a day. Louis enjoyed boating and waterskiing in his youth. He also enjoyed stock car races and managing his apartment operations. Louis was a man of strong faith and very generous. He especially loved his children and grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial for Louis C. Kotcher will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Father Dennis O'Reilly will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Peter and Paul's in Westville. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday, January 15 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A service of the Rosary will be held at 4 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in his name to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
