Lotus 'Loty' Mowery Williamson

Lotus Loty C. Mowery Williamson, 81, of Danville, Illinois, passed away at 2:53 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2009, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. Lotus was born April 28, 1928, in Danville, daughter of Russell and Lois (Day) Johnson. She married Kenneth C. Mowery on July 27, 1951 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1980. She later married Joseph D. Williamson on November 19, 1998, in Danville, IL, who preceded her in death on August 24, 2009. Her parents, two sisters, and two brothers also preceded her in death. Lotus is survived by her sons; Eric B (Vickie) Mowery and Timothy Mowery (Dann Roth), her daughters; Carolyn E (Charles) Mowery-Quarles and Vanetta J (Rick)Winslow, all of Danville, IL, grand-children Tracy (Scott) Kopacz, John (Kris) Mowery, Sara (Ryan) Martin, Coley Winslow, Amber Mowery, Kenneth (Laura) Mowery, great-grandchildren; Kendra Mowery, MacKenzie Mowery, Case Kopacz, Hunter Krauel, Ayden, Kaleb and Zayne Martin. Stepson; Kenneth W. (Julie) Mowery, step-grandchilren; Annette, Michelle, Micheal, Tara and four step-great grandchildren. Lotus was a graduate of Danville High School and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She was a retired registered nurse who was very compassionate and loved being a nurse. She enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren at their large family dinners. She enjoyed cooking, reading, doing crossword puzzles and music. She had a lovely voice and sang at church and special functions. She was a member of the Church of Christ. A Celebration of Life for Lotus will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor James Blueofficiating. Private family burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park following the service. There will be no visitation.
