Lottie V. Abbott, 95, of Danville, IL passed away November 14, 2006 at the Hawthorne Inn. She was born November 26, 1910 in Towanda, Illinois daughter of Jesse and Bessie (Clark) Fordyce. She married Leo Roy Abbott and was married over fifty years until he preceded her in March 1985. Survivors include: Daughter: Jean Maloy (John) of Oakwood, IL, Sisters: Vera Krol of Rolling Meadows, IL, Dorothy Filo Chicago, and Thelma Stone of Columbia, MO. Brother: Herbert Fordyce of Concord, Ca. Four Grandchildren: Susan (Chris) Meyer of Danville, Bill Guffey of Danville, Mike (Joyce) Maloy of Centerville, OH, and Shirley Maloy of Oakwood, Great Grandchildren: Amy, Jake, Josh, and Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daughter Shirley Guffey, and one sister. Lottie was Valedictorian of Towanda High School Class of 28. She worked for Grab It Here Store for several years. She was a member of the McKinley Methodist Church and the WSCS Circle Club. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, sewing, and most of all spending time with her family and being a dedicated homemaker. She loved dogs especially her own Queenie, Gracie, and Honeydog. A Celebration of Lotties life and Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm November 18, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center; 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made in honor of her daughter Shirley Guffey to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation; 5005 LBJ Freeway Ste. 250 Dallas TX 75244.
