Lorna M. Abney

Lorna M. Abney, 90, of Danville passed away on September 1, 2018 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. She was born on November 22, 1927 in Marcus, IA the daughter of Perry H. and Florence (Hurd) Copas. Lorna married Homer Charles Abney on July 8, 1945 in Danville and he preceded her in death in 2014. Lorna will be deeply missed by her daughters, Marla (Gary) Watson of Danville, Lori Abney Fox of Vista, CA, sister, Ruby Lockwood of Oakwood, IL, five grandchildren; Ryan and Aaron Watson, Milo, Morgan and Spencer Fox, 2 great grandchildren, Aubren and Otis Watson and she was also very close to her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Anna Giroux and one brother, Marshall Copas. Lorna was a devoted member of Crossroads Christian Church and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading and baking pies for everyone to enjoy. A celebration of Lorna's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Miles Clark officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest with Homer at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
