Lori Jo Presswood, 49, of Perrysville, passed away at 11:36 p.m. Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, from injuries sustained in a car accident. Lori was born on January 15th, 1962, in Danville, the daughter of Walter and Doris (Smith) Murray. She married Chad Presswood on January 23rd, 1982, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He survives. She is also survived by two daughters- Holly Presswood of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Amanda Presswood of Hoopeston; three grandchildren- Aleigha Perry, Aubreyana Perry and Lilliana Pagan; one brother- Dan (Tasha) Murray of Veedersburg, Indiana; three sisters- Donnita Murray of Tennessee, Cynthia Harrison of Lafayette, Indiana and Liza (Jesse) Martinez of New Albany, Indiana; step-mother- Peggy Murray of Covington; two step-brothers- Michael Hegg of Covington and Dennis Hegg of Las Vegas, Nevada; two step-sisters- Yolanda (Glen) Iunerich of Covington and Kelly (Lee) Backer of Riverton, Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, sister- Denise Murray Woods and a nephew- Jonathon Pickett. Lori graduated from Covington High School in 1980. She attended Tacoma Community College, where she obtained her paramedic license. She worked as a paramedic for over 20 years. Working for Fountain County EMS, Warren County EMS, St. Vincent's Hospital in Williamsport, and served as a volunteer firefighter for Covington during that time. Lori was most recently working as a pharmacy tech for Wal-Mart, in Danville. Lori attended Second Church of Christ in Danville. She enjoyed antiques, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Lori was compassionate, loving, caring and she loved helping people as a paramedic. A Celebration of the life of Lori Jo Presswood will be at 11:00 a.m. (EST) Monday, January 9th, 2012 at Sunset's Covington Chapel, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Joe Humrichous officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. (EST) Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Lori's name to the donor's choice.
