Loretta Krause

Loretta Sue Krause 73, of Myakka City, FL passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Serenity Gardens of Bradenton, FL.

She was born November 23, 1951 in Danville, IL the daughter of the late Russell and Pearl B. (Tibbs) Dolph. Loretta first married Richard Greenlee, and together they had two children. She later went on to marry William Krause in 2004, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Tonya Greenlee of Myakka City, FL, her grandchildren, Cheyenne and Kenna King, her sisters, Violet Janosek and LaVerne Bean as well as several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by one son, Richard “Rich” Greenlee Jr, one brother, Harold Dolph, as well as her four sisters, Teletha Hundley, Dorothy Tinsley, Elizabeth VanDuyn and Lois Lewis.

Loretta worked for several years as a Rural Mail Carrier for the United States Postal service before retiring. She loved sewing, crafts and making jewelry, and she used those skills to bless her family and friends with many gifts over the years. Most of all, Loretta loved spending time with her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Loretta at 11:00 AM on June 23 2025, at Sunset Funeral Homes 3940 N Vermillion St, Illinois 61834. Steve Benson will officiate. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 at the funeral home.
