Loretta 'June' Schomburg

Loretta "June" Schomburg, 81, of Garland, Texas, formerly of Georgetown, left this life on November 1, 2018, at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas, Texas. She was born on September 27, 1937, in Westville the daughter of William A. and Edna Rose {Webster} Morrow. She will be missed by: her daughter, Susan Kendron of Texas; her son, Mark Schomburg of Dallas; her grandsons, Jake & Kyle Schomburg, Matthew & Alex Kitts, all of Texas; her sister, Phyllis Sprouls of Georgetown; her brother, Bob Morrow of Kankakee, IL; and many nieces & nephews, as well as several extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shirley Martin. June was known as a great person. She was born during the Great Depression and learned that through hard work she could achieve all she wanted. She raised her two children with her rural paper route and had to dig them out of many snowbanks and kept to the mailman's credo "through rain or snow" as she delivered the paper. She later worked at Carle Clinic in Champaign and enjoyed the drive time for many years until she finally retired. Even with all that June was responsible for in her life, she was still the first person to help someone if they needed it. She enjoyed sports and was part of a girl's baseball team for several years earlier in her life and in her later years, enjoyed bowling and won many trophies. June was a wonderful being and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of June's life will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, November 12, 2018, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Georgetown.
