Loretta Faye Gulick

Danville - Loretta Faye Gulick, 85, of Danville passed away at 11:30 PM on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on June 23, 1932 in Danville, the daughter of Lester W. and Faye M. (LeConte) Maire. She was united in marriage to John "Tom" Gulick on September 10, 1953 in Danville. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2016. Loretta will be missed by her daughter Susan (Lindy) Edmund of Champaign, her son Steven Gulick of Danville and one brother, Thomas Maire of Hoopeston, five grandchildren, Carlie Edmund of Brentwood, MO and Kyle Edmund of Champaign, Keegan, Kendl, and Kristina Gulick, all of Danville. Loretta is preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, and one brother, Lester W. Maire, Jr. Loretta loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to photograph them. Loretta painted china for enjoyment and was very talented in her artistic skills. Her Christmas ornaments, plates, and the other beautiful items she painted for friends and family will always be treasured. She was the oldest and one of the founding members of the Red Bud China Guild. Loretta also enjoyed music and singing. She enjoyed sharing her many talents with her children and grandchildren. Loretta met her future husband Tom while working for the original Woodbury Drug Co. on Main Street in Danville. Loretta worked for many years during their 63 year marriage at Woodbury Drug Co., Gulick Pharmacy, and Illiana Medicare Equipment and Supply. Tom and Loretta enjoyed traveling, including trips to Russia, China, and Europe. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street Danville, IL. Raymie Gordon will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
