Loretta Lee Cohen, age 65, of State Line, IN, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2007 in Alvin. She was born January 20, 1942 in Clinton, IN the daughter of Clarence Ted and Hazel (Kinder) Wilson. Loretta was married to Hezzie Cohen for 33 years until his death on May 24, 1996. She is survived by one son: Brian Cohen of Alvin; two daughters: Brenda (Efrain Cruz) Marks of State Line, IN, Marla Simpson of State Line, IN; two sisters: Linda (Max) Wildman of Cape Coral, FL, Lois (Rick) Foye of Smyrna Beach, FL; twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren, very dear friends: Dick and Mary Hay and Sharon Pierce and the many others Loretta touched during her life. She was beloved by all that met her. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Loretta graduated from Clinton High School in 1961. She worked dealing with workers compensation insurance claims and was a homemaker. She was treasurer of the Warren County Womens Democratic Party for many years and served as Clerk of Kent Township in Warren County. Loretta worked as a Illiana Genealogical Society Research volunteer. She was a member of State Line Christian Church and the Corvette Cruisers of Illinois. She loved studying genealogy and cruising in her Corvette. Loretta was a dear sister and friend to Lois and Linda and will be missed by all of her family and friends. A celebration of the life of Loretta Cohen will be held at 2 pm CST on Monday, October 15, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Gerald Burt officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Clinton, IN. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm CST Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Lorettas name to either the American Heart Association or the American Lung Society. Email condolences can be sent to Lorettas family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
