Lonnie Dean Poulson

Danville- Lonnie Dean Poulson, 69, of Danville passed away at 2:06 pm on Monday July 25, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Lonnie was born the son of Vivian "Vee" F. and Dora I. (Carpenter) Poulson in East Lynn, IL on August 1, 1946. He married Dawn "Dee" Ida Seal on September 4, 1965 in Danville and she survives. Survivors include his wife: "Dee", one son: Danny (Dorrie) Poulson of Danville, IL, three grandchildren: Mikal Harden of Decatur, IL, Harlena Hardin of Terre Haute, IN and Shyann Dawn Poulson of Danville, IL Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents "Vee" and Dora Poulson, one brother: Ronald Poulson, three sisters: Beulah Lawson, Lois Tuttle, and Bonnie Crose, as well as one grandson; Justin Smallwood. Lonnie was a Welder for 18 years at Berkley Davis before becoming a Press Operator for Danville Metal Stamping, where he worked for over 25 years. He loved to hunt and fish, as well as being an avid Chicago Bears Fan. Most of all Lonnie loved to spend time with his grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday July 28, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Troy Harkey. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday July 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
