Danville – Lola “Jean” Craft, 97, of Danville, went home to Jesus at 8:20 PM on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at her home with her family. She was born to Harvie and Lillian (Brunell) Dunivan on April 24, 1928, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She married her husband of 47 years, Eugene Craft, on October 23, 1955. He went to his Heavenly home on July 18, 2002. From their union came two beautiful children, Wendy (Mark) Zimmerman and Adam Craft. They survive.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Mark Zimmerman, Amber Hardy, Zachary Zimmerman, Christa Barnes, Aaron Craft, and Grayson Craft; ten great grandchildren, Gabrielle (Jaedon) Sheahan, Zion Zimmerman, Angelina Hardy, Lola Hardy, Elijah Zimmerman, Samuel Zimmerman, Maxwell Zimmerman, Bruce Barnes, Natalie Barnes, and Cainan Smith; sister, Nancy Abernathy; brother, Charles “Chuck” (Karen) Dunivan; and sister-in-law, Judy Dunivan.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother and former sister-in-law, Richard and Lois Dunivan; sister-in-law, Rosalie Dunivan; two sisters, Viola (Richard) Rector and Donna (Donald) Limp; and a brother-in-law, Sam Abernathy.
Jean attended school in Perrysville, IN, graduating from High School on April 24, 1946. She worked at Teepak, inc., retiring after 27 years in January of 1992. Since 1991, Jean had been a member of Life Church in Danville until the day she joined her husband with Jesus in Heaven.
She loved her natural family, her church family, reading, many types of needlework, and music, both country and gospel. Jean also loved her kitties, Sweetie and Callie, who kept her company in her last years. Both Sweetie and Callie preceded Jean in death.
Per Jean’s wishes, she will be cremated and will be given a new body in Heaven. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jean Craft will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Pastor Doug Knapp will officiate. Burial will follow at Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Eugene. Family and friends are also invited to say goodbye during visitation from 1-2 PM prior to the service on Wednesday, also at Sunset in Danville.
