Lola A. Arky Cunningham, 88, of Danville, passed away at 3:50am on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Tilton. Mrs. Cunningham was born in Danville on January 5, 1921, the daughter of Mr. Merle H. and Mrs. Lola (Strawaser) Balsey. Lola is survived and will be missed by her two daughters from her first marriage, Becky (Bill) Siddens of Danville, and Jackie (Bill) Brown of Decatur, Alabama. She enjoyed being a homemaker while raising her two daughters. She later meet and married Mr. Forest Mack Cunningham during the late 60s. He preceded her in death in 1986. Other survivors include her seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, a great granddaughter due in October, and five great, great grandchildren. Her two stepchildren, Evelyn (Kenny) Krout of Veedersburg, IN, and Brenda Smith of Covington, IN., also survive her. Her nine step-grandchildren, two brothers, Merle Balsey of Danville, Ron (Katie) Balsey of Danville, and several of her nieces and nephews also survive her. Her parents, two brothers, one sister, and one step-grandchild, precedes Lola in death. She attended Danville High School and Lincoln Methodist Church in Danville. She worked for R-N-S printing of Danville as a proofreader, and later owned and operated the 24 Club in Danville with her husband Mack. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, making crafts, and walking. She enjoyed her trips to Alabama and loved her family and her grandchildren. A Celebration of Lola Arky Cunninghams Life will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with Dan Huffine to officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
