Lois Virginia Redmond, 84, of Georgetown, passed away at 5:10pm Saturday May 28th 2011 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home with her loving family by her side. She was born August 9th, 1926 in Agana Guam, the daughter of Robert and Lulu Moulton. She married Charles M. Redmond on October 25th, 1946 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on December 22nd, 1982. Surviving are two sons, Charlie (Sherry) Redmond of Georgetown, and John (Cindi) Redmond of Apopka, FL and one daughter Debra Mueller of Danville; three granddaughters, Natalie (Adam) Menossi of Edwardsville, Chelsey (JT) Torres of Chicago, Logan Redmond of Apopka, FL; one great grandson, Ty Menossi; one brother, George Moulton of Danville, and two nephews Steve and Tim Moulton of Danville. She was preceded in death by two brothers Bobby and Joe Moulton. She attended Danville High School and was always very proud to have been classmates with Dick and Jerry Van Dyke. Lois owned and operated the first Dairy Queen in Georgetown later renamed Humdinger Drive Inn for 26 years and owned the Sunset Bowling Lanes in Georgetown for 22 years. She was an avid bowler and loved working in her yard and being outside for long walks around town. Lois never seemed to know a stranger. In her latter years Lois was a proud member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown, IL where she served in the clothing room, the vacation bible school, the food pantry, and loved her Wednesday afternoon bible study group. She cherished her church family and the time spent there serving and helping others. Lois also enjoyed helping with the Golden Anniversary Party at the Georgetown Fair. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be sadly missed. A celebration of her life will be held at noon on Tuesday May 31, 2011 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm Tuesday May 31st at the funeral home. Phil Miller will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown. Condolences may be made to the family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
