Lois Picklap

Lois Mary Louise Picklap, 91, of Danville passed away at Colonial Manor in Danville on November 5, 2015. Lois was born December 1, 1923 the daughter of Urban and Violet (Poetinger) Solomon. She married Otto Ernest Picklap on November 12, 1949 in Chicago, IL., he preceded her in death on November 23, 1996. Lois is survived by two sons: Douglas Picklap of Crestview, Florida and Jack (Lu Ann) Picklap of Danville. One daughter in law Nancy Picklap of Winchester, Virginia. One brother Paul Solomon and seven grandchildren; Scott, Laura, Kim, Anne, John, Jeff, and Kristen. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Otto, son Philip, grandson Mark, two brothers Urban Jr. "Bud" and Howard, and sister Evelyn. Lois was a member of the Rock Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She liked to garden and loved to read. A celebration of Lois's life will be held on Monday November 9, 2015 at 10:00 am at Sunset funeral home and cremation center in Danville IL. She will be entombed at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. In lieu of flowers memorials in Lois's name can be made to the Mission Fields of the Rock Church.
