Lois Mildred Crawford, 95, of Westville, passed away at 9:20am, Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. She was born on April 13, 1916, in Johnson City, IL, the daughter of Issac and Ottie {Rose} Truax, both deceased. She was married to Paul J. Palusko in 1934 in Westville until his passing in 1966. She was later wed to Harley Crawford in 1969 in Westville until his passing in 1983. She leaves behind: her children, Paul (Diana) Palusko of Franklin, IN, & Rosmarie Smith of Westville; her grandchildren, Dwayne (Alisha) Smith of St. Louis, MO, Dennis (Laura) Smith of Fort Wayne, IN, Darrell Smith of Westville, David Palusko of Franklin, IN, & Nick Faber of Westville; her step-children, Donald (Barbara) Crawford of Arizona & Diane (Dave) Love of Tilton; her 7 step grandchildren; and 18 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Faber. In her early years, Lois worked at the former Goldblatts and Meis Department Stores in Danville, as well as, at the Hair Pin Factory in Westville. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ where she served in various offices and as superintendant of the bible school for 11 years, as well as, taught Sunday school for 25 years. She was a member of the Westville Women's Club, and also served as President of the Westville PTA. Lois also volunteered at St. Elizabeth's Hospital and helped with the Boy Scouts. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crafts. Most of all, Lois enjoyed her family & grandkids. A celebration of Lois' life will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 311 Moses Ave, Westville, with Connie Bandy officiating. Visitation will be held 4pm -6pm, Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville, and also for one hour prior to her service on Wednesday at the church. She will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery, Georgetown. Memorial donations may be given in Lois' name to Trinity United Church of Christ.
