Lois M. Mielke

Danville- Lois M. Mielke, 91, of Danville passed this life at 9:30 PM on May 22, 2011. She was born on February 7, 1920 in Rob Roy, IN, the daughter of Cecil R. and Mary E. Miles. She attended Hedrick, Indiana schools and graduated from beauty school in Danville in 1939. On September 16, 1939 she married William A. Mielke in Covington. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2001. She was also preceded by two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by two sons, Curtis A. (Jan) Mielke and Stephen M. (Pat) Mielke both of Danville, and one daughter, Cherrie (John) Burke of Westville; eight grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Helen Davis of Peoria and one brother, Donald Miles of Williamsport, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews. Lois was a lifelong member of St. James United Methodist Church. A service to celebrate the life of Lois Mielke will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Tiffany Black will officiate. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Thursday, May 26 also at Sunset.
