Lois Jean Smith, 49, of Danville, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Provena U.S.M.C. - Logan Campus in Danville. She was born October 13, 1955 in Chicago Heights, Illinois, the daughter of Arnold G. and Norma Jean (Goodberlet) Smith. Lois is survived by: her Twin Sons- Jason E. (Heather) Smith of Kankakee, IL and Joshua J. Smith of Bradley, IL; 1 Grandson- Gage Smith; her mother- Norma Jean Smith of Danville; her father- Arnold G. Smith; 1 Sister- Linda Sue (Mac) McCallister of Knoxville, TN; and a close family friend- Carol Brown of Danville. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. She was a 1973 graduate of Danville High School, and graduated from DACC as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1979. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville. She was the owner of "Family Affair" gift shop that sold antiques and collectables. She owned and operated a candy making business, and was a hospice volunteer for United Samaritans. She was an avid collector of Boyds Bears, enjoyed antiques, and loved people. Lois was a "people person" and was always helping someone.
