Lois Fortner, 70, of Covington, passed away on March 28, 2013 at her home. She was born on March 2, 1943 in Burrows, IN, the daughter of Earl Lawrence and Ruby Mable (Slusser) Harmon. She had a companion Perry Bennett for over 20 years. He survives. Surviving her are one daughter- Lorena (Rick) Glover of Covington, one brother- Dean Harmon of Logansport, IN, two sisters- June Munson and Sis Baker both of Logansport, IN, five grandchildren- Brandon Glover, Bobby (Crystal) Fortner, Brock (Kandi) Fortner, Michelle Hall and Holly Fortner, five great-grandchildren- Taylor, Haley, Lindsey Fortner, John Fortner and Baby J, two step-sons- Bob (Robin) Fortner of Georgetown, Chris (Martha) Fortner of Cayuga, IN and one brother in-law- Clark (Carol) Lemaster of Ohio. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and nine siblings. Lois was a loving mother, dedicated grandmother and a friend to all. Her laughter brightened everyone's day. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and going to garage sales. She was very involved with her grandson's activities such as cub scouts, library club and soccer. Lois had been battling lung cancer since 2010. Her strength and courage during her fight was unforgettable. Thank you mom for all that you have given us. A Celebration of Lois' Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM EST at Sunset's Covington Chapel. Burial will take place at a later date in Ball Hill Cemetery in Logansport, IN.
