Lois G. Rice, 71, of Georgetown, IL, passed away at 2:19am, Monday, March 23, 2009, at Provena USMC, Danville. She was born on January 30, 1938, in Murfreesboro, TN, the daughter of Thomas and Mamie (Barlow) Eads. She was wed to Thomas Rice on September 14, 1968, in Danville until his passing on March 3, 1994. Those who will miss her include: her son, Dennis Hardy of Danville; her daughters, Lisa (Bruce) Meeker of Georgetown, Cathy (Daniel) Chase of Newton, KS, Debbie (Jim) Williams of Georgetown, & Mitzy Rice Tansy of Ridge Farm; her twelve grandchildren, Brandy Heck, Chad Sandlin, Billy Williams, Jeremy Albin, Jason Albin, Danielle Albin, Alexis Shanks, Mariah Shanks, Joshua Chase, Jordan Chase, Matthew Tansy, & Abby Tansy; her five great grandchildren, Ryley Heck, Mary J. Sandlin, Zachery Albin, Dominic Albin, & Alexander Albin; her brother, Thomas (Shirley) Eads of New Brocton, AL; her sister, Carolyn Duke of Paris, IL; her special friends & caregivers, Bobbie Miles of Ridge Farm & Kay Manning of Georgetown. She was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Kenneth, Michael, & Ronnie; and two sisters, Connie & Bertha Mae. Lois was a member of Central Park Church of Christ in Tilton. She worked as a clerk for the Dollar General Store in Westville. She enjoyed metal detecting with her husband and sitting in her yard watching the hummingbirds. Lois was an avid NASCAR fan. She also loved going to the beach. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, March 27, 2009, at Georgetown Cemetery. Raymie Gordon will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West, Georgetown. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
