Lois E. Hansen

Covington, Ind. - Lois E. Hansen, 100, of Covington, passed away at 12:25 p.m. EST Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at The Waters of Covington, where she had been a resident for the past eight years. She was born November 1, 1915 in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Harry and Edna (Richardson) Shute. She first married Carl W. Boswell on January 26, 1935.. He preceded her in death in May 1957. She later married Jack H. Hansen in April of 1961. who also preceded her in death in June of 1981. Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn J. Wait of Perrysville, Indiana and one son, William A. Boswell, Sr. of Perrysville, Indiana; several grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one sister, Marie Samulowitz of Indianapolis, Indiana and one sister-in-law, Betty Hanna of Perrysville, Indiana. Lois was preceded in death by her son, Carl R. Boswell; four sisters and one brother, Dale Hanna. Lois was a member of the Wabash Senior Citizen Center and the First Church of Christ both in Covington, Indiana. Funeral services: 3 p.m. EST Friday, January 15, 2016 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Eddy Jones; Burial: Atherton Cemetery in Danville, Illinois; Visitation: 2 p.m. EST Friday, January 15, 2016 until time of services.
