Lois Barrick

Lois Jean Barrick of Estero, Florida passed away July 20, 2022, at Life Care Center of Estero. She was 95 years old. Lois was born on June 2, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Willis ONeill and Leona (Antoine) ONeill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene P. Barrick Jr. and her sister Lenell Robison. She married Eugene on June 10, 1945, and he passed away on her birthday June 2, 1974.

Lois is survived by her daughter Annelle Barrick Cavinder (Tom) and son Eugene P. Barrick III; four grandchildren, Tom Cavinder II, Todd Cavinder, Rachel (Barrick) Thomann and Eugene P. Barrick IV; and eight great-grandchildren, Brooke, Brandi, Haley, Hanna, Natalie Cavinder (Tom), Sabrina and Sam Cavinder (Todd) and Sophie Thomann (Rachel). Also, niece Patty Kelly.

Lois graduated from Danville High School (Illinois) in 1944 and attended Utterback Business School. She owned and managed many real estate and apartment buildings. She was a member of St. James Methodist Church. After Eugenes death she filled his position as the Vermilion County Auditor from 1974-1976. She Volunteered at Lakeview Hospital, Salvation Army, Cancer Board and United Fund and also active in the Boat Club.

Her interests were spending time with family, friends, theatre, music, card playing, travel and flowers.

Visitation is Friday, July 29 at 1:00 pm, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834, with service following at 2:00 pm. Pastor Randall Robinson will officiate. Entombment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations to Vermilion County Handicapped Association, American Legion, or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
