Danville Lois Ann Knapp, 81, of Danville passed away on August 28, 2020 at 2:20 AM at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Lois was born on March 9, 1939 the daughter of Frank and Mary (Olinger) Jackson in Mitchell, SD. She married Robert Knapp on October 22, 1960 in Woonsocket, SD and he survives of Danville.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Knapp of Danville, one sister, Elizabeth (Brian) Howland of Bloomington, IL, one sister, Delores Bogenrief of Cedarburg, WI, grandchildren, Westley Howland of Nashville, TN and Joah Howland of Bloomington, IL, one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Jackson of Lane, SD, special friend Carol Bursinger of Tomah, WI as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Patrick Allan Knapp, one daughter, Pamela Kelly, two brothers, Jerry Jackson and Darrel Jackson and two sisters, Eileen Brosnan and Iola Miller.

Lois was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville and a 1957 graduate of Lane High School in Lane, SD. She retired from the Center for Children Services as a Home Intervention Specialist and touch the lives of many children that she encountered over the years. Some still paying her visits as adults years after she assisted them as children.

Lois was a coffee connoisseur and a "professional" comedian, brightening the day of all those around her. She served in several active roles with Danville Light Opera including Production, Red Mask Players theater group as a Backstage Crew Member, sang for many years with the Sweet Adalines, and was a member of the Danville Boat Club. Lois enjoyed her flowers, was very musically talented and in her younger years was quite the dancer. She was obsessed with cruises and an avid world traveler. She and her husband; Robert had traveling to almost every country in the world with Cancun being one of her favorite destinations. Most of all, Lois was a great encourager and loved her family dearly. She was very proud and supportive of her husband Roberts work ethic and the wonderful life they were able to provide for their family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St Wilfrid Catholic Church in Woonsocket, SD. Burial will be in St Wilfrid Cemetery Woonsocket, SD. Father Kevin Doyle will officiate. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
