Lois A. Guiliani, 74, of Danville, passed away at 1:52 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. Lois was born on March 1, 1934 in Hillsboro, Illinois, the daughter of Lester A. and Evelyn L. (Busby) Parmenter. She married David L. Guiliani on February 21, 1958 in Danville. He survives. She is also survived by her step-daughter- Terri Matlock of Bloomington, Illinois; four grandchildren- John Peek of Bloomington, Illinois, Amanda (Bobby) Graham, Niccole (Micah Retzlaff) Peek and Lindsay (Jimmy) Connolly all of Louisville, Kentucky; three great-grandchildren- Ashleigh Cook, Shelby Graham and Cole Connolly all of Louisville, Kentucky; one nephew- Doug Nipper of Danville; one cousin- Joyce Busby of Litchfield, Illinois; three sisters-in-law- Kathleen (Bill) Pitlik of Danville, Eileen (John) Golcynski of Georgetown and Paulette (Butch) Young of Edwardsville, Illinois; lifelong friends- Bill and Wilma Hannah of Danville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister- Carol Nipper, brother-in-law- Bill Nipper and her niece- Cathleen Pitlik. Lois graduated from Danville High School in 1952. After high school she attended Blackburn College, where she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Education. She later attended the University of Illinois, where she received her Masters Degree in Education. Lois worked as an elementary school teacher for 35 years, teaching at Northeast and Meade Park Schools. She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Danville and was involved in Rachels Circle at church. Lois loved to spend time reading fiction and mystery novels, quilting and enjoyed watching Star Trek. Lois always loved spending time with her close friends and her family. A Celebration of the Life of Lois A. Guiliani will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Danville, with Rev. Drs Jimmy and Katie Hopper officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Visitation will also be held at 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park following the service. Memorials may be made to the 1st Presbyterian Church in Lois memory.
