Lloyd L. Davis, 83, of Georgetown, passed away at 4:50 p.m. Saturday April 9, 2005, at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Mr. Davis was born on Dec. 31, 1921 in Muncie, IL the son of Albert and Mary Wise Davis. He married Mary Alice Parliament on July 19, 1941 in Fairmount. She survives. Also surviving: five children, Sandra (Charles) Zimmerman of Bismarck, Leland Davis of Georgetown, Phillip (Andi) Davis of Tampa, FL, Gary (Francee) Davis of Georgetown, and Beverly (Pearce) Brooks of Ocala, FL. two brothers, Carl (Rosemary) Davis of Fairmount, and Don (Edie) Davis of Covington, IN; three sisters, La Vern Allen of Homer, Bernice (Bill) Grubb of Covington, IN, and Nellie (Dave) McCoy of Catlin. Fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joe Davis, and two sisters, Delores Heckerson and Rose Wakefield. Lloyd farmed many years, managed several Federal North Iowa Grain Elevators, managed the original Berrys Seed Store in Danville, and owned and operated Davis Fertilizer and Grain Company from 1969 until he retired in 1993. He also was a member of the Georgetown School Board and the Georgetown Fair Board. Lloyd and Mary Alice enjoyed 26 winters in Fort Myers, FL. Fishing and gardening were his passions, along with being an avid Illini and Cubs fan. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He belonged to Fairmount #590 Blue Lodge, the Western Indiana Shrine, rode on the Eastern Illinois Supercycle, and was a 50-year member of the Valley of Danville Scottish Rite.
