Lloyd H Beherns

Danville - Lloyd H. Beherns, 85, of Danville passed away at 8:05 AM on March 25, 2018 at Helia Healthcare in Champaign, IL. Lloyd was born on November 30, 1932 the son of Henry and Dorothy Hull Beherns in Watseka, IL. He married Reta Swanson on April 20, 1952 and she survives. Survivors include his wife; Reta Beherns of Danville, IL, four sons; Thomas (Cindy) Beherns of Estero, FL, Gregory (Paula) Beherns of Eaton, OH, Brian (Sandy) Beherns of Mahomet, IL and Stephen (Kate) Beherns of Anderson, SC, 12 grandchildren; Bradley, Ryan, Adam, Matthew, Joshua, Bret, Emily, Joseph, Savannah, Genevieve, Daniel and Charolette, as well as six great-grandchildren; Michael, Daniel, Aberle, Gabriel, Josephine and Esten. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Henry Beherns. Lloyd served in the United States Air Force, attained the National Distinguished Badge and was a Police Combat Pistol Shooter. After serving in the Air Force, Lloyd became a Police Officer in Hoopeston from 1959 until 1961, a Vermilion County Sheriff's Deputy from 1961 until 1970 and retired from the U.S. Marshall's Service in 1990. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street Danville, IL. Graveside Committal Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Sheldon Cemetery. Raymie Gordon will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home on Thursday, March 29, 2018. Memorials contributions may be sent in Lloyd's memory to the Vermilion County D.A.R.E.
