Lloyd Davis

Lloyd E. Davis, 90, Crest Hill, ILL Passed away peacefully on Feb 13, 2011 with his family at his side. Lloyd was born and raised on a farm near Longview, ILL, just south of Champaign. Later he attended Indiana Central College in Indianapolis, IND and the Bonebrake Theological Seminary in Ohio where he was ordained as an EUB Minister. He served the Lord at various congregations in Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois, eventually retiring at the Danville Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church. Lloyd also taught at the Bismarck Junior High School and worked additional 2nd and 3rd part time jobs most of his life. His interests included family camping trips, numerous carving projects and fixing things. Lloyd is preceded by his parents, Roy and Irene (Warnes) Davis, his loving wife, June (Davis), and his grandson, Bryce Davis. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Davis, and son, Larry Davis; also his grandsons Todd and Tony Picklesimer, and great granddaughters Jordan and Courtney. Lloyds siblings include his brother Morris Davis and sisters Ferne Hankins and Doris Keyser. The family thanks the Inn at Willow Falls in Crest Hill for their loving care and the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home for their special care and support to Lloyd and his family. A very brief, graveside service for family and close friends is planned at Danville Sunset Memorial Cemetery on Thurs, Feb 17 at 1:30pm . In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charity or church in his memory. Lloyd Davis will be fondly remembered in our hearts as Gods Minister to all of us.
