Lloyd "Bud" David Logan, Jr

Lloyd (Bud) David Logan, Jr., 94, of Danville, IL passed away at his home in Danville on October 6, 2024.

Lloyd was born on February 25, 1930 the son of Lloyd and Hazel (Parks) Logan in Danville, IL. He married Lois Peterson on August 24, 1952 in Danville, IL. She and their daughter Susan preceded him in death on October 23, 1985. He later married Ramona (Harper) Kester on November 28, 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona Logan of Danville, IL, his children, Karen (Strink) Logan of St. Joseph, IL, Todd (Dawn) Kester of Greenwood, IN, Kelly (Brian) Wicoff of Tampa, FL and Troy Kester of Danville, IL. He is also survived by niece/nephew Linda and David Armstrong, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lois, daughter Susan Logan, son David Logan, brother Robert Logan and sister Virginia Armstrong.

Lloyd taught Industrial Arts at Danville High School and held other positions within the district. Lloyd also served as Principal of Bismarck-Henning High School and later Principal at Danville Christian Academy.

He served as an Instrument Flight Instructor in the Navy during the Korean War and later in life traveled the U.S. as a Technical Instructor for Hyster. In his free time “Bud” enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycles, piloting his plane, and watching Cubs baseball.

As a result of his career path, church, and hobbies “Bud” had many friends and acquaintances.

The family would like to acknowledge fellow pilot and woodworking buddy Carey Cundiff and extend a very special Thank You to Mary Mayfield.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Ryan Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the funeral home.

His faith in the Lord was the core of who he was so please, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lloyd’s memory to Hope Unlimited Church, 428 N Walnut Street, Danville, IL 61832.
